Red Vs Blue
Red Vs Blue

I illustrated the parts that spoke to me from the book. There is a whole dialogue that goes unspoken throughout the book and you never really get what he is saying until the end. So it made you want to keep reading. After it is all said and done and you take it in, you find that you really can’t get mad at how the man thinks and laugh at his paradise.

Science is stranger than fiction and the Sci-Fi genre will always find ways to send you on a journey while walking on your grandmothers ceiling. When you are not certain about what is up and what is down then you know you have stepped into someone’s fantasy and he may ask you to be eaten by a large worm for effect.

None of this changes certain dynamics, certain truths. There has always been a Red vs Blue discourse in America and in its satire narratives. So it is not strange to find a bathroom argument in the latest John Scalzi novel.

Now according to the Author, you would think we are all grown enough not to freak out about the bathroom, that in this universe we have tons of things to freak out about, that in our lives we may come across Tax collectors and land lords and Repo-men but instead we concern ourselves with the bathroom. It is such a good argument that anyone else would just let, “The powers that be, do as they like.”

We would mindlessly continue to go down these long roads less traveled by and then everything just POPS, and so what is really important becomes the question.

eh, I don’t like to argue with Sci-Fi writers because they may put me in one of there “Black boxes that serves to fix every problem known to man, without thought.”

Then I won’t be able to write anymore and continue to give you something to live for.

Check out this book though.

It is one wild ride.

Are you over worked and under paid?

If you live in America now-a-days, the answer is yes. Always yes.

You find yourself stuck in the city looking for ways to handle the needs of bills and life and look forward to the weekends. Never is there time to just smell the roses. To just breathe air not filled with smog from the traffic pile up.

When you do take time to a book a vacation, by the time you get there, you are think of the grind that awaits you.

What If you could find  a place, in the woods, far from everything, and find God.

Would you do it?

In the hills of North Carolina, there is such a place. Acres and acres of land untouched by the world. cabins and space for many to find that secret place. With kind hearted people to cater to your every need and minister the love of Jesus to your ever failing heart.

Many claim that they can manage without that time. They have tons of parks to dip into when they need that space. But do they really? parks are filled with regulations and louder children than the ones we raise. Not so here. All the space anyone needs to get there minds back to things that are important in life and that we take for granted.

Though in the world of today, He sees us trying.

Come all you whom labor and are heavy laden. We offer you rest in this place.

As I reflect on the, Manchester Arena Attack, one can not help but to pray for those lost and for those injured.  We are thankful for our leaders who pay attention to the out cries of those victimized by explosions and the complete change in there lives.

We are thankful for the families and onlookers that took the time to help those in need. I am thankful that so much was documented and said that was positive and we don’t have to wait years to hear about those that were made hero’s through pain.

Only when I think of the Manchester Arena Attack, I am made to think of that 1942 film For Me and My Gal starring Judy Garland. I am made to think of how no one cared for war and the problems of the world until they were neck deep in it.

At an Ariana Grande tour concert is when people began to realize the wolves are knocking on there door and these wolves are playing for keeps.

We hear on the news how there were innocent women and children. As if this has changed since 1996. It has been the same argument and the same answer has been the response of the world.

“Is this WAR? Are we really dealing with people that don’t like us? Are things ever going to get better? Are they really going to start policing us?

I did not have to be there to know how REAL things can get. I don’t have write anything about it, in order to stress how important it is we begin to treat one another better. We are not supposed to wait for a crisis to learn how to say, “How can I help you?”

Formeandmygalmp.jpg I think it is rather silly that this movie is the first thing that came to mind when I heard about the attack. All I saw in my minds eye was the idea that a bunch of children looking to have a good time found themselves in a rock and a hard place, for no other reason than, “They were listening to a woman sing about dreams!”

Image result for manchester arena

I am not going to say what I really think, I am just going to observe, like so many before me watch and wait. I am going to see what the others say or don’t say and I am going to pray!

I am going to pray that America Wakes up! Like they did in 1942, I won’t march like they did in the Judy Garland movie, I won’t join the YMCA and wave flags urging people to do anything; I think enough has been said, on both sides. No, now like any good chess player, you wait.

Wait for people to realize that life is not a movie, that when we have problems and you have to make a choice between ideals and reality, when you are made to choose between your dreams and the dreams we sing about and how we sing them, how we dress, who we claim to be, when you have to choose between the West and the East and you are not referring between the pick-up games of 1996 and 2005, when we have to choose between winning and loosing, who are you going to stand with?

That is the sad thing isn’t. When for so long we were told we could have it both ways, when we were told there are no right or wrongs, that Secular life is fine, that the liberals have the ticket, that money solves everything. I don’t know anything anymore and I don’t pretend to. I bridle my tongue lest  the words of Jehu becomes doctrine.  In my hearts of hearts I know no one is ready for that to be the answer. No matter how strong people make themselves out to be unless they are willing to pull the bow, keep there vengeance from me. no instead I find comfort in the story of Jephtah the Gil-e-ad-ite. Judges 11. I would much rather see the world through his eyes, and live.

I would much rather look and live.

Let us all Look and Live

ACLU Action
Hi Advent –

There’s still time to make sure the NCAA adheres to its stated principles and denies North Carolina the championship games they crave – until the state fixes the damage wrought by HB2.

We need as many people as possible to raise their voices and build pressure before the NCAA host site selection is finalized on April 18. Will you send a message now to NCAA President Mark Emmert?

The NCAA’s hypocrisy is staggering. After HB2 became law last year, the NCAA pulled championship games from the state for failing to “assure a safe, healthy, discrimination-free atmosphere for all.”

North Carolina’s new law is still discriminatory and illegal. It still singles out transgender people. It still bars local governments from protecting LGBTQ people through 2020. The NCAA should know this. So why is the NCAA now allowing North Carolina to bid to host championship games?

Call the NCAA on this hypocrisy. Tell NCAA President Mark Emmert he’d be going back on his word if he allows championships to go to North Carolina.

What happened behind the scenes between the state representatives and NCAA officials? How did North Carolina convince the NCAA that this new law is less discriminatory when we know it doubles down on the worst parts of HB2?

The ACLU just filed public records requests to get answers. We need to know how the cities and schools bidding to host NCAA games will guarantee a nondiscriminatory environment for LGBT people. We don’t think the deal on the table is sufficient – and we need the NCAA to know that we’re not satisfied.

Tell the NCAA to refuse to award North Carolina games until HB2 is actually repealed. This fake repeal law is still harmful for LGBT people – especially trans people. We can’t let the NCAA hide from this fact.

Thanks for taking action,
Anthony for the ACLU Action team

Keeping one’s mind on higher things!

I grew up in a time when there was an untold number of things that would lead one into a world of damnation and a spiritless life. A time when the Secular Community, paved the way for the depraved and unrighteous to lay claims upon a Functional dysfunction. i.e. THE functional alcoholic can maintain high ranking stature in the military as long as he keeps a desk job.    Giving way to the Logistic Officer.

Growing up in a time when everything is socially acceptable and the slackers rule the land made my pursuits of academic excellence seem childish, irrelevant, and the idea of half-hearted work will fly because everyone else is doing it.

So many seek life through all the wrong mediums and are horribly disturbed, partying like it is ’99 proves to be nothing more than a song, and not at all how we should look at our purpose in this world. We excuse ourselves by saying, “Well I am a responsible adult and can manage my own conscience.” We don’t even manage the regulation of our heart beats or the inhaling of the much needed breathe without the guidance of our father who art in heaven, but we can manage reasonably the dysfunction that so easily besets us.

John 5:39 in the words of Jesus states, “Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.”

We do this in hopes of assuaging the guilt that comes upon our functional dysfunction. It becomes a repetitive cycle because we know not the father. We think we can handle it ourselves. Jesus continues to say in the next verse, “And ye will not come to me that ye might have life.”

This is what our dependency upon secular ideals amounts to. The search for peace. The alcoholic drinks in search of the oblivion that sleeps provides. The person that goes to every night club and spends there money on a side of town they do not even live, seeks the peace that is afforded from not being around the voices of rebuke for the actions they pursue in the night that has led them to a life of sin. Those that give themselves to wanton behavior seek the peace and security afforded through the promise of marriage,  a marriage that in this country has seen more court rooms or the threat of a court room, than any other country.

John: 14:27 proclaims, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

Keeping our minds staid on the promise of the Lord, affords us (as) believers to not fall prey to the justifications of the secular community.  That same community will say it is perfectly fine to live an amoral life as long as you are not hurting anyone.

I pray in our search for peace we remain steadfast upon heavenly things. Learn to eliminate the, “Self” our flesh and allow his love to consume us.

I hope we can learn to cherish our families and when we find that someone we love is going down a destructive path, that we remember that they are simply searching for peace.

Jesus Christ praised the church in Ephesus for their works, labor, patience and perseverance (Revelation 2:1-3 Revelation 2:1-31 To the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things said he that holds the seven stars in his right hand, who walks in the middle of the seven golden candlesticks; 2 I know your works, and your labor, and your patience, and how you can not bear them which are evil: and you have tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and have found them liars: 3 And have borne, and have patience, and for my name’s sake have labored, and have not fainted.
American King James Version×
). But He warned, “Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love” (Revelation 2:4 Revelation 2:4Nevertheless I have somewhat against you, because you have left your first love.
American King James Version×

After all is said an done and I have lived the life I have lived, I pray I never forget to keep my mind on the things of God whom is my first love.
